Another vital factor you need to consider when you join a home exchange club with a PAID membership is the assurance that, by making that payment, all the members, including yourself, have had the personal information they are providing verified as correct. The club truly "knows who they are".

People don't realize that the clubs they do business with on the Internet don't actually manage their payments. Actually, when you click to finalize your payment you are instantly transferred to one of the handful of merchant companies that manage all online payments throughout the world.

Their abilities to detect fraudulent information are amazingly accurate and by joining a club that has paid memberships, you are investing in that level of proven security.

Do you really think it's a good idea to save a fe dollars, or pounds, or euros and set up a home exchange blind with someone whose identity could be completely bogus?

That's nhot a gamble I'd want to take!

We are at present enjoying an exchange for 10 months in Dublin Ireland. We exchanged our home in Melbourne Australia as the young couple were thinking of emigrating but wanted to spend twelve months living the life to see if they were making the correct decision. We just wanted to be closer to the rest of the world.
Tomorrow we take off for scotland in a ferry and in their car for three weeks and have trips planned into europe and Britain later in the summer. Also friends are coming to visit us.
We are getting to know the neighbours and learning our way around. We plan to complete all the short 'Wicklow Walks' before we head home.

Thanks for your comment, Patrik. In a nutshell, you have described the charms of home exchange.
In my to-do-list I have added "actively searching for additional home exchange opportunities in Norway for JewettStreet members" so that some day soon, I hope, you will get your dream vacation in the land of the midnight sun.

Is it really that obvious what "open to many home exchange destinations" really means? I wonder how many people are catching the idea behind it:
To me, it means dreaming of a vacation in Norway, contacting people all over Europe and finally ending up with a wonderful and inspiring two week family vacation in the midst of the Pyrenées!
You never know what you get, but you know: it will be good.
